February 2024: Underground YA, a writing workshop and critique group in NYC, celebrates its 5th Anniversary!
Underground YA began in February 2019 and is a writing workshop and critique group focused on written work for Young Adults (with the occasional dip into Middle Grade and YA/Adult crossover). It meets every week near Union Square in NYC, and also hosts open writing nights, guest author speakers, and query letter workshops.
*Currently meetings are hybrid and held both remotely and in person.
We are a diverse and inclusive group, and welcome new voices. No professional writing experience is needed to join. Our mission includes providing publishing knowledge and resources to un-agented, unpublished, and traditionally excluded writers. All writers and authors welcome.
