February 2025: Underground YA, a writing workshop and critique group in NYC, celebrates its 6th Anniversary!
Underground YA began in February 2019 and is a writing workshop and critique group that initially focused on written work for Young Adults, but now includes all audience age ranges. It meets every week in the heart of Manhattan, and also hosts open writing nights, guest author speakers, and query/synopsis letter workshops.
*Currently meetings are hybrid and held both remotely and in person.
We are a diverse and inclusive group, and welcome new voices. No professional writing experience is needed to join. Our mission includes providing publishing knowledge and resources to un-agented, unpublished, and traditionally excluded writers. All writers and authors welcome.
